Synopsis:

Centred on Samuel's return to Shanghai from London, this film offers an elegy for a gender dissident struggling to escape the past, yet forced to confront its lingering wounds. It is a farewell to a demolished hometown, an erased identity, and a complicated relation with the family challenges the local community. Through a dream-within-a-dream structure, the film metaphorically intertwines body and land, employing cuts, displacements, and silences to convey its narrative.
